Partner Content: Transforming enterprise technology with AI PCs
AI is reshaping how businesses operate in today's fast-evolving technology landscape. Among the most promising developments is the rise of AI PCs, a new category of devices equipped with integrated neural processing units designed to bring AI capabilities directly to the desktop. AI PCs are set to disrupt the PC industry in the coming years, and for resellers, this emerging market represents a significant opportunity to grow their business by helping end-user organisations unlock the full potential of these new devices.
CRN's recent whitepaper, focuses on how the AI PC market is rapidly maturing, driven by the growing recognition of their business value. 28 per cent of IT leaders surveyed said they are either actively implementing an AI PC rollout or reviewing them as part of their device refresh plans. What's more, 31 per cent agree that all new devices deployed within their organisation will be AI PCs by default within the next two years.
This shift towards AI PCs is being propelled by the integration of AI tools like Microsoft Copilot, which is already being used or tested by 76 per cent of organisations surveyed. AI PCs promise to enhance productivity, streamline workflows and improve employee experiences across various business departments, from IT and technology to customer service and marketing.
The reseller opportunity
For resellers, the rise of AI PCs presents a unique opportunity to provide value-added services that address the specific needs of their customers such as education and awareness, building the business case and helping customers build a long-term strategy.
The AI PC market is still relatively new, with 61 per cent of organisations expressing interest but not yet actively deploying them. Therefore, there is still a need for education around the benefits and potential use cases. Resellers can play a critical role in helping their customers understand how AI PCs can enhance their operations and the long-term value they offer through relevant resources.
One of the main challenges highlighted in the report is the difficulty of building a robust business case for AI PCs. With upfront costs being a significant concern, resellers can assist by providing detailed insights on the cost-benefit analysis, helping organisations weigh the initial investment against the potential efficiency gains, competitive advantages, and innovation opportunities over the device's lifecycle.
The report highlights the importance of taking a long-term view when it comes to AI PCs. Device refresh cycles typically span three to five years, meaning that the decisions made today will impact organisations for years to come. Resellers can help their clients develop a forward-looking AI PC strategy that anticipates future needs and leverages emerging AI capabilities.
