ThinkGrid secures the cloud with Cryptzone

Hosted infrastructure vendor rolls out cloud encryption service

Hosted infrastructure vendor ThinkGrid has launched an encryption service aimed at tackling business users' cloud security fears.

The new service protects all the data that passes between end users and ThinkGrid's cloud platform with AES 256-bit encryption.

The service is based on end-point security vendor Cryptzone's technology and can be purchased on a monthly, per-user basis via ThinkGrid partners.

Rob Lovell, chief executive of ThinkGrid, said security is the last remaining barrier to mainstream adoption of cloud computing.

He said: "Our cloud platform has become a highly attractive alternative to on-premise IT, as it removes a significant amount of the IT management burden.

"Nonetheless, there are certain organisations that want these advantages but are limited by compliance regulations."
