Veeam poaches VMware channel boss
Virtualisation management vendor hands EMEA channel role to Gilles Pommier
Veeam Software has poached Gilles Pommier from virtualisation giant VMware to oversee its channel activities across EMEA.
Veeam specialises in data management and disaster recovery software designed for use in VMware-powered virtual environments.
Prior to his appointment at Veeam, Pommier spent three years at VMware managing the firm's channel in Southern Europe.
At Veeam, he has been tasked with creating programmes and initiatives to support the firm's EMEA distribution and reseller partners.
Daniel Fried, managing director for Veeam in EMEA, said: "To accelerate our market penetration and expand our geographical coverage, we needed to bring together our entire EMEA partner network into a unified programme that still allows for necessary local variations."
Pommier added: "Veeam's hyper-growth and technology are appealing to partners in the dynamic and competitive market for data protection and management of virtualised environments."
