Imago sales abroad exceed UK
Video comms distributor hails strong international performance
Imago Group has seen sales generated by its overseas arm forge ahead of its deals in the UK for the first time.
According to the company, its latest annual report saw performance across its six locations – including China and the UK – rise 18 per cent in revenue terms last year.
"Overseas sales moved slightly ahead of the UK, with UK turnover at £19,269,499, and overseas at £19,435,605," Imago said in a statement released to the media.
UK-based Imago has subsidiaries in France, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, South Africa and China.
Ian Vickerage, managing director of Imago, said: "We have always had a close eye on the international opportunity and I anticipate that the gap between our overseas and UK sales will continue to grow."
Vickerage added that 2010 saw the company included in the Sunday Times' International Track 100 league table of UK-based private companies with the fastest-growing international sales. Imago opened its first overseas office, in France, in 2002.
"We will be looking at further expansion in the year to come," he said. "We are on course to break previous sales turnover figures this year."
Imago works with video communications partners abroad, and claims to be doing well with video conferencing products from Polycom and internet video offerings from Amino and VIPtv in particular.
Its UK operation also grew through 2010, Vickerage said.
