Managed IT and cloud services provider Arc today announces the promotion of Mark Darrah (pictured) to the role of chief technology officer following its April rebrand.

He succeeds Matt Clayden, who is stepping down after 25 years of leadership.

Darrah’s new post will cover strategic technology leadership across the business, responsibility for building out Arc’s service capabilities and bringing the delivery of customer projects into this remit.

Arc CEO James Clayden thanked the outgoing CTO for his 25 years of commitment and service.

“During the past two years, our business has changed significantly with three varied acquisitions. We’re thrilled to welcome Mark as our new CTO; his leadership, vision and deep understanding of the MSP landscape will be instrumental as we continue to expand our services and deliver exceptional value to our clients,” said the chief exec.

The new CTO is no stranger to the Essex-HQ MSP, having spent the last year at Arc as its cloud lead, a position which is now being taken up by cloud technical manager Dan Bryant.

Prior to this, Darrah spent the last 14 years as founder and director of Nationwide IT Consultancy (NITC), which is one of the three companies Arc has acquired in the past 12 months.

Arc engulfed fellow Essex-based MSP Clear Thinking IT in February last year, along with the Azure-focused NITC in October 2024.

Microsoft consultancy Perspicuity was then added to Arc’s M&A roster in January.

Arc ‘s revenues shot up from £10.5m to £23m in 2024.

Of that growth, 23 per cent was organic while the rest was made up of its acquisition spree.

"As an MSP, we need to learn to adapt to the changing technological landscape and Arc are already at the forefront of this,” said Darrah.

“We want to help deliver solutions, provide efficiency to our customers and help them grow their businesses, which is really important to us.

“Adapting the technology to bring the best solutions to them is really where we're looking to focus, and I’m excited to lead Arc into its next chapter, focusing on empowering the businesses we work with through reliable, secure and forward-thinking IT solutions.”

Arc’s headcount now stretches 150 staff across four UK locations, supporting more than 1,000 businesses nationwide with desktop support, hybrid cloud, datacentre hosting, IT strategy, public cloud (Azure), SharePoint, Power Apps, AI and Purview.
