Dublin-based MSP Ekco has found a new UK CEO in Ben Savage, a seasoned IT vet with 30 years of experience.

Savage started his career it the IT channel in 1995 when joining Mitsubishi Electronics as an account manager.

He moved to HP two years later as an enterprise account manager.

In 1999, he became regional sales manager at NEC Europe, where he stayed for six years.

He then joined with Fujitsu as head of infrastructure service sales, a role he assumed for nearly seven years before working for Colt Technology Services as European VP of sales, cloud, and IT services.

In 2015, he was hired by Pure Storage as EMEA head of GTM channels, before transitioning to MD of sales and marketing at Digital Space in 2018.

Nearly two years later, he took on the position of MD of sales and marketing at London-based MSP Six Degrees.

Savage made his entry into the C-suite when joining iomart in 2021 at CCO, where he drove sales growth and played an important role in making four acquisitions in four years.

As the new CEO of Ekco, he will be in charge of tackling opportunities in the UK mid-market to create long-term commercial advantages for the company.

He will also strive to deliver optimised customer experience as demand for cloud and cybersecurity accelerates.

“I joined Ekco because I was genuinely impressed by the ambition of this business,” said Savage.

“The mid-market is undergoing a fundamental shift, with businesses increasingly recognising they need specialised skills to manage complex cloud environments securely.

“My focus will be on helping customers navigate this journey.

“Ekco is perfectly positioned to deliver the co-managed services these organisations need as they adapt to work-from-anywhere requirements and evolving security threats.”

Eoin Blacklock, co-founder and CEO of Ekco, added: “[Savage’s] track record in driving commercial transformation and scaling businesses in the cloud and cybersecurity space makes him the ideal leader to take Ekco through its next phase of growth.

“His customer-centric approach and deep understanding of the challenges organisations face in securing their cloud environments align perfectly with our mission to help businesses securely harness the full potential of cloud technology.”
