All roads lead to the MSP model, at least as far as the channel is concerned.

Berkshire-based GTS Dynamics is one more partner firm on this path, according to its director Dean Cowell.

“We started as a consultancy business, focused on ERP systems, mainly Microsoft Business Central,” he tells CRN.

“Our MSP offering came later. Many of our consultancy clients asked us to take over their IT managed services because we were already managing 80 per cent of their business processes.

“They felt their existing MSPs were too limited, mainly providing licences and break/fix support.”

The company now aims to expand its managed services model by approaching firms from the MSP side and growing into business systems, or by starting from business systems and building outward, offering full IT service coverage.

The organisation’s turnover stood at £280,000 at the close of last financial year, a figure it has already almost hit this first quarter, notes Cowell.

“Growth has been strong,” he says.

Around 35 per cent of its earnings come from managed services, and the rest from business systems and consultancy, highlights the director.

Looking ahead, Cowell wants to focus on organic evolution, as acquisitions are not part of his 12-month roadmap.

“We aim to first strengthen our base, drive adoption of Copilot, and balance the MSP and business systems sides of the company first,” he explains.

“Once that foundation is solid, we might look at small MSP acquisitions to expand client bases and strengthen teams.”

Customer base and workforce

The firm currently serves SMBs ranging from 20 to 200 employees in sectors such as manufacturing, warehousing and distribution, and logistics.

GTS Dynamics’ client base is made up of “three main organisations that include a total of 19 entities” across England.

The MSP intends to work with more SMBs soon to balance with the larger ones it is currently working with.

The company’s director also plans to focus on the UK and expand locally rather than internationally.

On the technical side, the company currently employs three consultants specialising in Business Central who also cover SharePoint and Power Automate, one Power BI specialist, and two developers who handle customisation and API integration work.

It also has staff in finance, sales, administration, and business operations.

Channel partners and tech opportunities

Besides Microsoft, GTS Dynamics deals with vendors such as SentinelOne for security and Keeper for protection and storage layers.

It is exploring opportunities with Inforcer and Nerdio for automation.

In addition to cloud commerce marketplace Pax8, it works with distributors such as Continia, which focuses on document automation, and Insight Software for reporting intelligence.

It also partners with MobileNAV, which provides warehouse scanning and barcode technology.

Moving forward, the director sees Microsoft Copilot and Copilot Studio as key areas he wants his company to lean into.

“Business Central is getting new sustainability tracking features and built-in security, which are really exciting developments.

“Everything’s starting to integrate more tightly within the Microsoft ecosystem, and Copilot ties it all together.”
