Hammer continues vendor expansion with Nexsan signing

The VAD will distribute Nexsan’s storage solutions across Europe

Hammer Distribution continues to expand its vendor portfolio, following its split from Exertis and subsequent rebrand.

The data and storage-focused VAD has struck a partnership with Nexsan to distribute its storage solutions across EMEA.

The partnership will see Hammer act as an official distributor for Nexsan across Europe, adding the vendor’s enterprise storage and data management platforms to its regional offering.

The agreement aims to give channel partners access to on-premises storage systems designed for data-intensive and regulated environments, including those supporting AI, analytics and high-performance compute workloads.

Nexsan’s portfolio includes its E-Series, Unity and Assureon platforms, which are positioned around performance, energy efficiency and long-term data integrity.

Hammer said the deal strengthens its ability to support customers with on-premises storage and data protection requirements, while extending Nexsan’s reach across its established EMEA partner network.

The tie-up comes as Hammer continues to sharpen its identity following its return to the Hammer Distribution name earlier this year, ending a seven-year period of trading as Exertis Enterprise.

The rebrand followed wider structural changes at parent DCC Technology and was positioned by the distributor as a move to bring greater clarity to its market positioning and strategy.

In that context, the Nexsan agreement represents another step in reinforcing Hammer’s focus on infrastructure, data and storage, areas where it has historically built much of its channel expertise.

Vincent Phillips, CEO of Nexsan, said the partnership would help customers across the region access enterprise-grade storage designed for sustained data growth.

He added that AI and high-performance computing environments required storage that was “not just fast, but inherently dependable”, particularly as organisations look to retain, protect and mobilise large datasets.

Hammer said it would provide partners with technical support and flexible deployment options as part of the agreement, as well as access to storage platforms designed to balance performance, resilience and cost.
