Ingram Micro has named Matthew Sanderson as executive VP and president of EMEA.

The Ingram vet’s first priorities in the role will be to address opportunities across the region and develop the distie’s Xvantage platform.

Having joined the organisation as GM of hardware and software in 2002, Sanderson brings over two decades of leadership experience within the company.

Over the years, he assumed diverse roles such as director of vendor management and marketing, as well as senior director of volume business unit and consumer sales.

In 2009, he stepped up as managing director UK.

Sanderson became VP and MD of Australia and New Zealand three years later, before coming back to the UK as VP and country chief executive UKI.

He took over as SVP and country chief executive UKI and Switzerland in 2019.

Since 2020, he also served as SVP and chief executive of EMEA professional services.

Sanderson will aim to advance digital innovation across the region and will play a key part in the global development of Ingram Micro’s Xvantage.

Xvantage is an AI-driven ecosystem that strives to help businesses streamline their operations and improve customer experiences by connecting partners, providing insights, and managing technology products, services, and solutions in one place.

The new EMEA will assume his new role on 1 June.

He will succeed Mark Snider, who will retire at the end of the year after a 25-year career with the firm.

“[Sanderson] has earned recognition as an industry leader across Australia, the UK, and Ireland,” said Paul Bay, CEO of Ingram Micro.

“We’re excited to elevate his role and are confident he’ll continue driving growth throughout EMEA - advancing the success of our customers, vendors, and team.”

Sanderson added: “This is an exciting time for Ingram Micro as we see the positive impact our talent and technology continue to have on our customers, vendors, and the tech industry at large.

“I am honoured to serve as EVP and president of EMEA.

“I want to thank [Snider] for his mentorship and leadership, and I look forward to sharing in the growing success of our team, customers, and vendor partners.”

Over the past few months, the US-based distributor made several changes to its headcount and leadership team.

In January, it appointed Sanjib Sahoo president of the global platform group, a month after laying off 850 employees.
