Wakefield-based VAR Nasstar Group has named David Senior as its new CFO, bringing more than 15 years of experience in finance.

Senior first entered the IT channel when joining North Yorkshire-based MSP Redcentric in 2017 as an interim financial controller.

Within four months, he was promoted to finance director.

He made his debut as CFO in 2020, a position he held until now.

Senior announced his departure from Redcentric in January, a week after Peter Brotherton stepped down from his role as CEO to be replaced by Brian Woodford.

Prior to being involved in the channel, he worked at Wolseley Group, a supplier of plumbing, heating, cooling, and infrastructure products headquartered in Warwick.

He joined the firm in 2008 and assumed different roles throughout the years, such as financial controller, finance director, head of decision support, and head of market intelligence.

“We are thrilled to welcome David to the Nasstar team, who joins at an exciting time for the business,” said Paul Cosgrave, CEO of Nasstar.

“He brings a wealth of valuable financial and strategic experience and is excellently positioned to make a significant contribution to our future success.

“I look forward to David joining the senior leadership team and working with him closely.”

Senior added: “I am delighted to be joining Nasstar at such an exciting time in its journey.

“The company has a strong foundation and a clear vision for the future, and I look forward to working with the team to drive financial excellence and support Nasstar’s continued growth and success.”

Senior’s appointment will take effect on 1 May.

The new CFO will replace Kevin Dangerfield, who is to step down less than two years after joining the company.

“I would also like to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to Kevin, who has helped us navigate this period of transformation,” said Cosgrave.

The company ranks number 23 in CRN’s Top VARs list.
