Cloud-based security provider Qualys has made changes to its executive team to boost the company’s evolving channel strategy.

May Mitchell becomes the firm’s CMO, while Chris Catanzaro has joined as global channel, MSSP, and alliances leader.

Catanzaro entered the IT world in 2004 as regional sales manager for Southern California, Arizona, and New Mexico at HPE.

He went on to occupy different regional leadership roles such as director of sales, West at SecurView, Americas channel sales leader at RSA, and strategic channel chief, North America at Blue Coat Systems.

He took on his first global role in 2016 as director of worldwide channel sales at Digital Shadows.

He later led international channel strategies for different vendors, such as Recorded Future, SentinelOne, and Halcyon.

As for Mitchell, she brings 24 years of experience in marketing, joining the sector as senior director of solutions marketing, GTM planning and enablement at McAfee in 2001.

She then assumed different roles in marketing leadership for organisations such as WebSense Forcepoint, IronKey, Maas360, Symantec, and Cylance.

She is also an experienced CMO, taking on this title for the first time at zero trust cloud security platform iboss.

Throughout the years, she assumed the same role at different firms, including Ontinue, HUMAN, and OnConferences.

In addition to these two new executive appointments, the vendor has also reportedly named new field and channel marketing people to support the work of its local team.

These people move will aim to propel Qualys’ channel strategy as the company wants to become more partner friendly.

During Qualys’ QSC EMEA 2025 hosted in London in May, Matt Middleton-Leal, the company’s MD EMEA North and South, told CRN that the vendor wants to be around for a long time and intends to deepen its channel relationships to do so.

These leadership changes will also intend to satisfy partnering firms, as some are eager to see their collaboration improve, with for example Jamal Lawrence from Bytes telling CRN during the event that “the relationship could definitely be better.”
