Rydal Group expands telecoms capabilities with Telecom2 asset acquisition

The new investment represents the company’s second partial purchase this year

Rydal Group has acquired the fixed-line telecoms client contracts from Telecom2, which will now focus on wholesale channel delivery.

As this represents an asset acquisition and not a full purchase, the brand will remain active under the same name.

Rydal Group is now responsible for account management, billing, and support.

Each client will reportedly be able to use their current setup and will be introduced to a dedicated account manager in the coming weeks.

They will also have the capability to choose to migrate when ready, and gain access to Rydal’s service catalogue, such as Teams integration, mobile, SD-WAN, leased lines, cybersecurity and full IT support.

Rydel will also offer them the option to upgrade to its cloud voice over internet protocol (VoIP) and unified comms platform, including omni-channel communication by default, with WhatsApp, Facebook, SMS, live chat and email all managed in one platform.

These solutions are backed by more than 100 UK-based staff, in-house ISP, and are datacentre based.

The buyout will aim to deliver both continuity and access to a modern platform to customers, as Telecom2’s future innovation on its platform had reportedly reached a ceiling.

Telecoms isn’t the only area on which Rydal Group is focused on, as it also invested in Trisoft’s IT services division in April this year.

The company also made further investments over the course of the last 12 months.

In June last year, it purchased Cambridge-based telecom solutions provider My Communications.

In September last year, the company bought datacentre and ISP services provider Merula.

This also marks the seventh buyout the firm made to expand its telecommunications capabilities across the UK in the last seven years.

Besides Telecom2 and My Communications, Rydal Group has invested in Guru Technology, Sort IT, NDG Technology, Cloudsource Technologies, and Link Solutions.

The organisation is also involved in infotech, cybersecurity, and energy.

As of today, the Peterborough-based firm has offices in Lichfield, Lancaster, and a datacentre and ISP operation in Huntingdon.
