Salesforce names Brian Landsman global partner ecosystem chief and AppExchange CEO
The leader steps up after 13 years at the company
US-based vendor Salesforce has appointed company vet Brian Landsman as EVP of global partnerships and CEO of AppExchange, the marketplace for business apps and integrations built on the company’s platform.
As EVP, Landsman, who announced his new position on LinkedIn, will oversee corporate and product business development, ISV sales, strategic alliances with other vendors, as well as partner programmes and operations for Salesforce’s SIs, consulting partners, ISVs, and resellers.
As the organisation’s new AppExchange CEO, he will be in charge of AgentExchange, its AI agent marketplace, as well as the Slack marketplace.
The IT exec will lead teams responsible for revenue, go-to-market strategy, product management, technology, and operations.
He first entered the channel when social media marketing platform BuddyMedia, where he worked as a business development manager, was acquired by Salesforce in 2012.
After completion of the purchase, he became senior director of business development for marketing cloud for the vendor.
Three and a half years later, he took on the role of VP of product partnerships, before stepping up as VP of corporate business development two years later.
In 2020, he transitioned to SVP of business development and strategy, until his appointment as EVP of global business development and partnerships, position he held until now.
Prior to joining the channel, Landsman was involved in the investment industry, previously working as an analyst for Gleacher Partners and as an associate for Revel Partners.
This new appointment reflects a broader shift within the organisation, as Salesforce was reportedly laying off over 1,000 employees - 1.5 per cent of its global workforce – in February, redirecting its hiring strategy towards AI salespeople.
It also follows a rise in revenue from its data cloud and AI section, as annual recurring revenue over $1bn, a 120 per cent year-on-year increase.
The firm also bought out cloud data management vendor Informatica last month to boost its data cloud activity.
