SCC boosts ESG strategy with new green offerings
The VAR announced new schemes around emissions data and device recycling
IT group SCC has launched two new initiatives to drive sustainability across the channel.
The company has partnered with carbon emission data solutions provider Rejoose to provide better emissions insights and launched a new scheme supporting clients in transitioning to Windows 11 through its IT asset disposal (ITAD) and device recycling programme Recyclea.
Rejoose partnership
SCC’s new partnership with carbon emission data solutions provider Rejoose will integrate the company’s lifecycle carbon reporting capabilities to provide emissions insights across SCC’s IT supply chain.
The move aims to enhance the carbon footprint insights customers get through the VAR.
SCC will also be able to provide transparent Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions data across its supply chain to support firms in aligning their sustainability goals with CSRD, CDP, and EU Taxonomy regulations.
“This new partnership with Rejoose strengthens SCC’s ability to provide high quality activity-based product carbon data, enabling customers to make fully informed decisions about the environmental impact of their IT estates,” said Alex Groves, head of sustainability at SCC UK.
Matt Ruskin, CCO at Rejoose, added: “SCC is an organisation that demonstrates a leading approach to sustainability which is entirely in step with Rejoose’s ambition to provide the highest quality of automated emissions data on IT products.”
SCC Recyclea
The VAR’s device trade-in and recycling service, delivered through SCC Recyclea, is timed around the end of support for Windows 10.
The new scheme will aim to extend the lifecycle of IT devices and support customers in transitioning to Windows 11, as Windows 10 will no longer be supported from 14 October 2025.
These initiatives are intended to make it easier to retire IT devices, by increasing capital release against core laptop and smartphone models, simplifying device removal processes, and enhancing grading standards to increase reusability.
Launched in January 2024, Recyclea consists of three core services: recycling, refurbishment and remarketing.
It provides businesses with solutions for managing redundant IT assets, including refurbishment, resale, and responsible recycling.
“The launch of our enhanced trade-in schemes and device lifecycle programmes will help businesses unlock value from their redundant IT while significantly reducing e-waste,” said Adrian Saint, GM at SCC Recyclea.
