Softcat bags £500m South East Grid software framework

The framework delivers solutions for education, local authorities, and third sector organisations

Softcat has been named as the official supplier for the South East Grid for Learning’s (SEGfL) national software framework.

The agreement came into effect September 29 and is set to run for four years, with a value of up to £500m.

Awarded by East Sussex County Council, the number one ranked VAR will provide a range of software solutions to more than 2,500 schools, local authorities, and third-sector organisations across the South East of England.

The framework covers licensing for Microsoft and other applications, cybersecurity tools, educational software, and associated hardware, alongside support, maintenance, and software asset management services.

“This win reflects our continued commitment to supporting the education sector with innovative, secure, and scalable IT solutions,” said Rachel Clay, head of education and non-profit at Softcat.

“We’re excited to work closely with SEGfL members to deliver real value and help transform digital learning environments”.

Softcat stated its inclusion on the SEGfL framework marks another milestone in its mission to empower educational organisations with technology that drives efficiency, security and service excellence.

Public sector organisations such as schools contributed to Softcat’s latest double-digit financial growth.

In its recently published FY25 results for the year to 31 July 2025, the LSE-listed firm saw double-digit growth across the public sector.

“Public sector towards the end of the year was a bit slower, as we saw some of the challenges the governments have with balancing the books,” Softcat CEO Graham Charlton recently told CRN.

Gross invoiced income for the period hiked 26.8 per cent to £3.6bn driven by a 14.8 per cent increase in software sales, which climbed from £1.8bn to £2.1bn.
