---Synaxon UK brought together a select group of resellers, MSPs, vendors, and channel professionals last Thursday at Molineux Stadium in Wolverhampton for its latest channel event, The Cyber Game: Attack V Defence.

The one-day event, hosted by Synaxon UK MD Mike Barron, focused on fostering information exchange and practical insights to help the channel stay ahead of evolving cyberthreats.

Headline sponsors Terra and Telev8 set the stage, while panel sponsors Huntress, Vipre, HP Inc, and Opentext led discussions on proactive security strategies.

The day balanced structured panel sessions with plenty of networking opportunities. Attendees explored emerging cybersecurity solutions on the expo floor, where vendors including Owl Labs, Threatlocker, and Lenovo (TBC) showcased their offerings.

One of the most thought-provoking sessions of the day came from football freelancer and influencer Ewan Baggot, who challenged MSPs to rethink their approach to social media and content creation.

Drawing parallels between building an advertiser-friendly online brand and driving engagement in the channel, Baggot encouraged attendees to embrace more dynamic, provocative content strategies.

He suggested that rather than defaulting to product promotions or service pitches, MSPs should lean into storytelling and human-interest content to stand out in crowded digital spaces.

Later in the day, Telev8 founder and telemarketing expert Tara-Jane Sloane took the stage to share strategies for refreshing traditional lead-generation tactics. In her engaging presentation, Sloane stressed the importance of personalisation and a human touch when reaching out to prospects.

She argued that effective telemarketing is less about scripts and more about fostering genuine connections, advising MSPs to tailor their approach to each prospect’s specific needs and business context.

A key theme throughout the event was the evolving role of MSPs in safeguarding customers, with panellists exploring the balance of responsibility between service providers and end-users.

Conversations also touched on the need for continuous education and collaboration across the channel to strengthen cyber resilience.

The day also included networking opportunities for cybersecurity students from the University of Wolverhampton, allowing the firms in attendance to walk the talk when it comes to employment opportunities in the channel.

Barron closed the day by thanking attendees and sponsors for fostering a collaborative and open dialogue.
