Telefónica Tech taps Palo Alto Networks vet to lead UKI cybersecurity sales

Xavi Garcia Faura joins the reseller this week from a vendor background

Telefónica Tech has appointed Xavi Garcia Faura to head up its UK and Ireland cybersecurity business, bringing in a veteran with more than two decades of experience across the vendor channel.

Faura joins from Palo Alto Networks, where he spent the past three years as director of Prisma Cloud sales for the UK and Ireland.

He started his new role at Telefónica Tech in May.

His 30-year career in the channel includes four and a half years at Cisco, where he held various sales roles following its 2016 acquisition of CloudLock, the cloud access security broker where he was previously based.

He has also held roles at Symantec, Fujitsu and Attachmate.

In a LinkedIn post announcing his move, Faura described the role as a chance to both grow personally and help shape something meaningful.

“Some roles feel like the natural next step. Others feel like the right place to build something that matters. This one is both,” he wrote.

“After 20+ years helping organisations around Europe strengthen their cybersecurity posture, I’ve joined Telefónica Tech to lead our UKI Cybersecurity business.

“As a Spaniard, there’s something special about joining a company that has earned deep trust at home, while now expanding globally with bold ambition.”

Faura said Telefónica’s focus on customer outcomes was key to the appeal of the role.

“If you’re an organisation rethinking your cyber strategy or exploring how a strong MSSP can help you scale securely, I’d love to connect,” he added.

He also made a call-out to former colleagues: “If we’ve built something great together in the past and you're up for doing it again, I’m hiring!”
