The tech dispatch: Smart CT wins outsourcing contract in 500 French locations

The win grows the sustainable IT services org’s European business to 30 per cent

Reading-based IT firm Smart CT has significantly expanded its European operations with a major contract win in France.

The deal with an unnamed France-based retailer is for the outsourcing of the French IT provider’s internal networking maintenance support in more than 500 locations across the region through Smart CT’s European storage, logistics and repair facilities.

This win grows the UK technology lifecycle services specialist’s European business from five per cent to 30 per cent in three years.

It also means Smart CT counts more than 200,000 devices in its remit and now provides services in 57 countries, with the top three in the UK, Germany and France.

Smart CT CEO Andy Morgan said his company’s success in supporting similar clients in France and Germany helped clinch the agreement, which he believes will pave the way for more business in Europe.

“This contract win is a launchpad for future successes and employment,” he said.

“This contract gives us a real foothold in Europe and showcases our ability to support multiple countries. It was our proven track record, highlighted by our exemplary service delivery in France and Germany, that played a crucial role in securing this contract.

“This strategic partnership allows our client to optimise their operations, reduce costs and focus on their core business activities – and for us it sets a powerful tone for 2025.”

Smart CT bills itself as “100 per cent dedicated to the channel”. It business deploys, maintains, replaces and repairs business-critical IT infrastructure, such as networking, servers and other workplace technologies, on behalf of IT suppliers.

It has more than 25,000 parts stored at more than 50 locations across the UK, Europe and the US.

Previous contract wins cover the retail sector, central government, and organisations dedicated to the exploration of space.
