Zyxel Networks appoints new president

Ken Tsai rose to top job after 19 years at the company

Taiwanese vendor Zyxel Networks has appointed company vet Ken Tsai as president to boost its momentum in global markets.

Tsai joined the Zyxel Group 19 years ago and has since held various roles across different segments, such as the gateway strategic business unit, the management centre, the corporate HR service division and the business supporting centre.

He lastly held the title of VP of Zyxel Networks’ gateway strategic business unit.

Zyxel Networks spun off from Zyxel Communications in 2019 to focus on the SMB networking market and has consolidated its market position over the last five six years through its Nebula cloud management platform alongside network security solutions.

The organisation’s Nebula cloud management solution aims to address the challenges faced by SMBs globally, such as regulatory pressures, limited resources, recruitment difficulties, and an increase in security attacks.

"Zyxel Networks has been committed to delivering exceptional networking solutions for SMBs since day one,” said Tsai.

“With the Nebula cloud management platform and security solutions, we have successfully distinguished ourselves with strong in-house R&D power in the international markets and established a robust business model.

“Building on this success, we are confident in our path forward.

“I feel a great sense of responsibility and will dedicate myself fully to leading Zyxel Networks in continued growth and innovation."

The new appointment comes as Zyxel made significant changes to its partner programme over the last 12 months.

In March 2024, the company updated its partner track to equip firms with “new generations of Wi-Fi 7 access points, multi-gigabit switches and unified security gateways.”

In September last year, it unveiled more updates to its channel strategy to enable MSPs to use the AI-driven capabilities within the organisation’s Nebula cloud management platform.

In January 2025, the vendor once again made changes to its channel scheme in an effort to “drive cloud networking and support the growth ambitions of all our partners,” according to Kevin Drinkall, the company’s director, marketing and GTM strategy EMEA.
