Westcoast hits European top 10
Distributor grabs tenth place on a list of the fastest-growing private companies in Europe
Westcoast has been ranked tenth in a list of the fastest-growing private companies in Europe, according to Europe 500.
The organisation, which met at the European Parliament in Brussels last week, is an association of the fastest-growing owner-managed companies in Europe, representing more than 2,300 companies across the region.
Its mission is to support entrepreneurial initiatives and help improve the conditions of economic growth and job creation in Europe.
Alex Tatham, sales and marketing director at Westcoast, said: “This is the highest we have ever been in this league table.
It reflects the excellent effort the company made in 2010 and this will continue into 2011.
“We have made an amazing start in January – traditionally a tough month but it shows that resellers cannot ignore the effort our teams are putting in and the ‘can do’ attitude that we have for every bit of business.
“Our focus and speedy decision making allows Westcoast to compete and beat the large American competition,” he said.
Joe Hemani, founder of Westcoast, added: “League tables are for sports teams, but I am so proud that a British company is winning in such a tough environment, creating new jobs and stripping supply chain costs for our customers.”
Westcoast is looking to recruit 50 new staff members this year, Hemani revealed.
