New Acer channel set-up offers same-day tender response
PC vendor rejigs partner-focused team to increase responsiveness
Acer has restructured its channel-facing team to get closer to resellers and claims it will respond to tender enquiries within a day.
Gateway UK country manager Nathan Knight moves into a role overseeing all Acer's UK commercial business. Reporting to him will be Alicia Shepherd, SMB and distribution channel manager; Paul Dutton, who will manage the direct market reseller channel and commercial PC head Jennifer Watts.
Also part of Knight's channel set-up will be an operation covering value sales and business development, a server and storage team and a telephone sales and support team of UK natives based in Barcelona.
Acer UK country manager Bobby Watkins (pictured) told Channelweb that the revamp has been designed to boost the vendor's responsiveness and levels of support. A bid manager will provide same-day responses to VARs' bid enquiries, he asserted.
"We are committed to the commercial market and want to offer the best solutions based on how the reseller needs support," said Watkins. "We have increased responsiveness by having a focus on bid management and on customer needs."
