Bechtle joins Responsible Business Alliance to strengthen supply chain sustainability efforts

Bechtle’s RBA membership aims to deepen oversight of environmental, social and ethical standards across its global supply chain

German IT services provider Bechtle has become a member of the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA), joining a coalition of more than 600 organisations focused on improving social, environmental and ethical practices throughout global supply chains.

The move marks the latest step in the reseller’s wider sustainability strategy, with the company seeking to strengthen due diligence, transparency and accountability across its supplier ecosystem.

Founded in 2004, the RBA is one of the world's largest industry coalitions dedicated to responsible business conduct in global supply chains, bringing together companies from the technology, electronics and related sectors.

Members commit to implementing the alliance's code of conduct, which covers areas including labour standards, health and safety, environmental responsibility and business ethics.

The organisation also provides assessment tools, training and compliance frameworks designed to help members improve supply chain performance.

Bechtle said membership will allow it to collaborate more closely with industry peers and leverage established standards and auditing frameworks to support responsible sourcing and supplier management.

“We are confident that the Responsible Business Alliance’s holistic approach will enable us to help strengthen the effective implementation of key ESG standards worldwide. We also intend to make use of the exchange of expertise and the tools provided by the RBA to continuously advance our shared objectives across our business ecosystem,” said Christian Jehle, CFO, Bechtle (pictured).

Bechtle has increasingly positioned sustainability as a strategic priority in recent years.

In an interview with CRN, chief sustainability manager Dr Nicole Diehlmann explained the firm is planning to decrease its scope 3 emissions from purchased goods and services, as well as the use of sold products, by 55 per cent for every €1,000 (£874) of value it creates by 2030.

In its latest financial results, the group recorded a 7.6 per cent revenue rise to €1.6bn for the period ended 31 March 2026, while EBIT jumped 14 per cent year-on-year to €65m.
