Charterhouse has acquired the Teleware brand, intellectual property and customer base to enhance its AI agent and customer experience (CX) solutions portfolio for Microsoft Teams.

The deal will also allow Charterhouse to expand its expertise in voice recording, compliance and regulated communications, while boosting innovation across unified communications, contact centre and collaboration services.

The VAR said it will continue supporting existing Teleware customers and partners to ensure continuity of service while giving them access to a broader set of capabilities across cloud, security, networking and managed services.

“Teleware’s visionary work in AI-driven customer experience for Microsoft Teams perfectly complements our strategy and our recent global recognition from Microsoft,” said Mike Wardell, CEO of Charterhouse.

“Together, we are exceptionally well positioned to help organisations transform how they communicate, collaborate and serve their customers.”

Steve Haworth, CEO of Teleware, added: “Joining Charterhouse marks an exciting new chapter for us.

“Together, we will be able to scale our technology, reach new markets and deliver world-class solutions that drive meaningful outcomes for our partners and clients.”

The deal comes less than a year after Wardell took the helm of the London-HQ business.

Other leadership shifts over the past 12 months include Amy Gilbert as marketing director in November and James Banks as CTO in September.

Kelly Stevenson was hired as financial planning and analysis director in August, alongside Amy Crawford as chief commercial officer in July.

Leah Smith was promoted to COO last March.

The firm also started off 2026 by appointing Jonathan Pitt as director of cybersecurity in January.

These exec changes followed the company’s turnover falling 5.8 per cent to £73.3m in its latest set of results for the year ended 31 March 2024.

On the other hand, gross profit rose to £30.2m, while adjusted EBITDA jumped 21.8 per cent to £5.9m, driven by momentum in unified communications, networking and cybersecurity, particularly in the public sector.

The Teleware deal is Charterhouse’s first acquisition since a takeover hat-trick in early 2021, when it swooped Symity, Digital Exchange Products and Pentesec.

Overall, the organisation has completed six buyouts since being purchased by private equity firm August Equity in 2018.

Other investments include NETconnection and Lloyds Business Communications.

Charterhouse ranks number 59 on CRN’s Top VARs list.
