CRN Women & Diversity in Channel Awards - Finalist Q&A with Susan Peters, Sales Employee of the Year at Cybit

Susan Peters talks being a finalist at this year's CRN Women & Diversity in Channel Awards

What prompted you to enter the CRN Women & Diversity in Channel Awards this year, without giving anything away of course!

I was encouraged to enter because the past year has shown what can be achieved when commercial focus and genuine customer care work together. I am proud of the results, but equally proud of the relationships, teamwork, and consistency behind them. The entry was a chance to recognise that collective effort and represent the many women building successful, trusted careers across the channel.

What would winning this award mean to both your people and your customers/partners?

Winning would be a wonderful acknowledgement of the colleagues, customers, and partners who make strong results possible. For our people, I hope it would show that being dependable, collaborative and customer-led matters just as much as the final number. For customers and partners, it would reinforce that Cybit values long-term relationships, commercial integrity, and people who take real ownership of outcomes.

What would you say is your company's proudest achievement over the past year?

One of Cybit’s proudest achievements has been strengthening the connection between sales, customer experience, delivery, and our strategic technology partners. We are becoming more proactive in how we identify customer priorities and translate them into practical plans across cloud, security, data and modern workplace. That joined-up approach helps customers make better decisions and gives our teams a clearer view of where we can add value.

What have been the biggest challenges of the current year so far and how have you overcome them? How have your people/partners helped with that?

Customers are balancing fast-moving technology choices with cost pressure, security risk and the need to show measurable value. The answer has been to stay close to customers, ask better questions, and bring the right specialists into conversations earlier. Our delivery teams, sales support and vendor partners have helped by responding quickly, sharing expertise and keeping complex requirements moving without losing sight of the customer’s priorities.

What do you see as the main opportunities for the industry in the coming 12 months? How do you plan to capitalise on those opportunities?

The biggest opportunity is helping customers turn interest in AI, cloud and cybersecurity into governed, commercially sound plans. Many organisations do not need more technology for it's own sake; they need clarity on where to start, how to manage risk and how to prove value. I plan to focus on trusted customer conversations, strong account insight and close collaboration with Cybit’s technical and partner ecosystem so that opportunities become useful outcomes.
