Espria names third CEO in three years

Former Trustmarque and Insight vet Angelo Di Ventura reveals to CRN his growth ambitions for the MSP

Espria has kicked off 2026 with a new chief executive officer in Angelo Di Ventura, effective yesterday.

Announcing his appointment on LinkedIn, Di Ventura wrote:

“I'm delighted to be joining Espria as CEO. Looking forward to working with colleagues, customers and partners as we shape the next chapter of the business together.”

Speaking to CRN, Di Ventura says he was “approached by the Espria Board regarding the role” and reveals his immediate priorities and growth ambitions for the group.

“The business has stabilised under the previous management team, and my initial focus is to build on that progress, ensure continuity, and spend time understanding the organisation, its customers and its people,” he says.

“Over the coming year, the priority is to move from stabilisation to sustainable growth, while maintaining operational discipline and service quality.

“The Espria managed services business is well positioned for its next phase, and our focus will be on disciplined, customer-led growth. A more detailed strategy will be shared following a formal briefing.”

Di Ventura replaces outgoing CEO Clinton Groome.

Following a turbulent 2023 that led to major leadership changes, Groome stepped up to the CEO role that year after serving as the MSP’s chief operating officer for three years.

After reinvesting and refocusing, Espria planned to sell up as part of its refreshed three-year strategy, Groome told CRNlast year.

“As part of that journey we've always said, within three years, we'll get to the point where we'll do the appropriate transaction,” Groome told CRN.

“Based on 2023 being an unstable year after removing the CEO we decided to pause, regroup, redesign the business, and move forward.

“So effectively, this is year one of the three-year plan.”

This puts Espria in year two of this strategy, giving the Connection Capital-backed MSP one more year to find a new PE house if new CEO Di Ventura sticks to his predecessor’s game plan.

Who is the new Espria CEO?

Di Ventura can be considered a channel vet having worked at three separate channel firms before Espria.

He joins from IT solutions and services provider MTI Technology, where he spent almost nine years in total in the roles of chief revenue officer and CEO.

Prior to MTI he worked for more than seven years at Trustmarque, and six with Insight where he was managing director.
