South Wales-based MSP Flotek has acquired Essex-HQ technology provider Clear Telecom to boost its managed IT presence across Essex and London.

Founded in 2003, Clear Telecom provides IT support, hosted VoIP, SIP trunks, Microsoft Teams telephony, business phone systems, mobile, broadband and leased line services to SMEs.

Flotek said the buyout will give Clear Telecom customers access to a broader portfolio spanning managed IT, Microsoft cloud, cybersecurity, communications and technology consultancy services.

The purchased company will continue operating from its Essex office, while co-founders Barbara and John Malone will support the integration process.

“This acquisition is an important step in expanding our managed IT presence across Essex and the wider South East,” said ‍Jay Ball, CEO of Flotek.

“Clear Telecom already supports partners across IT, communications, and connectivity.

“Becoming part of Flotek will allow us to invest further in those capabilities and provide partners with access to the broader resources of the Group.

“Our immediate priority is to protect the relationships and service that Clear Telecom’s partners already value.”

Barbara and John Malone added: “We know that IT and communications are increasingly coming together, and that more businesses want to bring their technology services under one provider.

“Joining Flotek will allow us to respond to that shift and better support our customers as their needs continue to evolve.”

The transaction marks Flotek’s 16th acquisition since the business was founded in 2022.

Earlier this year, it took over FlexiNet to boost its communications footprint across Hampshire, the wider South and into London.

The firm was first brought into the Flotek orbit through an investment in January 2023.

In 2025, it bought out Microshade Business Consultants to enhance its IT support and cybersecurity services as well as Simpology UK to boost services for SMEs and multi-site companies in London, Cambridge and surrounding areas.

Other acquisitions include Colbek Systems, OES, Orbiss, Ikona IT, Liberty Solutions, Toolk-IT, ECS Solutions, MazingTree, Saecom, Cloud9ine and Gower Systems.

Flotek has also made changes to its leadership team this year as it appointed Fred Parker as operations director in May.
