Ikonic hires Russell MacGowan as channel director
“It was clear that Ikonic was destined to be my new home,” said the IT vet
Manchester-HQ Ikonic Technology Limited has named Russell MacGowan, a tech exec with over 25 years of experience, as its new channel director.
MacGowan entered the IT world in 2001 as a sale consultant at Compel, later working for companies including SCC, Tempus Computers and most recently Intec Microsystems, where he spent 17 years.
During his nearly two decades tenure, he assumed different positions such as senior sales consultant and sales manager.
“[MacGowan] steps into the role of channel director, where he will work closely with our directors to drive implementation and strategy across the business,” wrote Ikonic on LinkedIn.
“Bringing over 25 years of experience in the IT sector, [his] expertise, leadership and industry knowledge will be a huge asset as we continue to grow and strengthen our channel partnerships throughout the year.”
MacGowan also took to the professional social network to share his new position.
“From my very first conversation with [sales director] Tony Levene it was clear that Ikonic was destined to be my new home.
“The company’s history, passion and ambition truly shone through, and I couldn’t be more excited about meeting my new colleagues and what the future holds for us as a business.”
This appointment comes as the organisation is aiming to continue its upward evolution, after Ikonic Technology Holdings Limited shared positive figures for the financial year ended 31 December 2024.
Top line grew about six per cent to £139.9m, compared with £132.05m at the same time the year prior.
While revenue in the UK decreased from £59m to £50.6m, earnings in Europe rose from £68.9m to £75.7m and figures skyrocketed around 223 per cent in the rest of the world, reaching £13.5m (FY23: £4.2m).
EBITDA slightly went up, standing at £2.6m, a nearly four per cent uptick from £2.5m in FY23.
Results increased despite what the company described as a more volatile world economic environment.
Looking ahead, Ikonic will intend to drive growth through innovation and its service offering.
The employee-owned firm currently counts 101 staff, including directors, up four people from the previous year.
