SonicWall names Jonathan Berger SVP of global channels and alliances
The move comes as the vendor has revamped its leadership team over the past 12 months
Cybersecurity vendor SonicWall has hired Jonathan Berger as SVP of global channels and alliances to turbocharge its partner-first strategy and expand recurring revenue opportunities across its MSP and MSSP ecosystem.
Berger will lead SonicWall’s worldwide channel strategy, overseeing partner engagement and channel growth across the vendor’s reseller, MSP and MSSP network in NORAM, EMEA, APJ and LATAM.
Before joining SonicWall, Berger spent nearly six years at US-based firm BlueAlly, one of SonicWall's largest and most strategic channel partners, said the company.
During his time there, he held several leadership positions including SVP of marketing, SVP of digital strategy as well as CMO.
He also brings extensive exec experience from previous roles including CEO of Blue Cellular North America, CEO of Saicom Voice Services and COO of Virtual Graffiti.
According to SonicWall, his background operating partner businesses gives him direct insight into the commercial and operational pressures MSPs and MSSPs currently face.
“Jonathan does not just understand our partners - he has been one,” said Patrick O’Donnell, CRO at SonicWall.
“He understands the business decisions they face every day, the programmes that move the needle and the commitments that build long-term trust.”
Berger said the move represented an opportunity to strengthen partner competitiveness.
“I have spent my career building partner businesses and working alongside vendors,” he explained.
“[...] I am excited to be on the other side of the table, working to deliver programmes and strategies that give our MSPs and MSSPs a genuine competitive advantage."
The appointment comes as SonicWall has been reshaping its leadership team over the past year.
In July, the cybersecurity vendor named Rajnish Mishra chief development officer.
It then started 2026 with the promotion of Jason Carter to SVP and global channel chief in January, following the departure of Michelle Ragusa-McBain.
That same month, the company also tapped Paul Ilse as president and CEO alongside Carolyn McCarthy as COO.
