Michael Ing retires from Kerv
“I now feel able to step away from a healthy growing business,” stated the company’s MD and co-founder
Kerv’s co-founder Michael Ing has announced he is leaving the cloud and digital services provider after more than five years as MD.
Co-established in 2020 alongside Alastair Mills, who still serves as exec chair, the organisation reported turnover of £104.1m in its latest set of results for the year ended 31 March 2024, a nearly 40 per cent surge from £74.5m.
Prior to starting the company, Ing worked at IT firms including Cable and Wireless, whose operations were later split between Vodafone and Liberty Caribbean, Level 3 Communications, now part of Lumen Technologies, PacketExchange, acquired by GTT Communications, Six Degrees and IP Integration.
He announced his departure on LinkedIn.
“After over 40 years in the technology business, I have decided that now is the right time to hang up my executive boots and retire from my role as MD at Kerv,” wrote the company’s leader.
“With Kerv on a strong trajectory, I now feel able to step away from a healthy growing business that the team will build on into the future.
“Our consistent strong organic growth, our people scores and our customer feedback for more than five years is measurable proof that our approach has been successful and is the right thing to do.”
Beyond Ing’s retirement, the firm has undergone various leadership changes over the past year.
Earlier this month, it promoted Katrina King to the newly created role of chief customer and operations officer.
In January 2025, it named Robert Meehan MD of Kerv Consult, who later transitioned to the position of chief marketing officer.
In addition to Kerv Consult, the firm’s other units include Kerv Digital (led by Stuart Haerper), Kerv Experience (overseen by Julian Barrow), Kerv Collaboration and Compliance (headed by Brad Gorton), Kerv Transform (run by Nicholas Cothill) and Kerv Connect (with Jane Hamlyn at the helm).
The business also added 75 staff to its workforce through its buyout of IT consultancy Inciper in late 2024, which officially rebranded to Kerv last October.
The company ranks number 42 in CRN’s Top VARs list.
