Redsquid has named Dave McGinn chairman as the MSSP targets becoming a £250m business.

McGinn previously led Daisy, serving as MD of Daisy Distribution between 2009 and 2018 and as CEO of Daisy Communications from 2016 until stepping down in November.

He left the business six months after Virgin Media O2 and Daisy Communications announced plans to merge their B2B operations to create a £1.4bn entity.

He is set to formally join Redsquid next week.

The company said the appointment marks a new step in its ambition to build a technology services group worth more than £250m.

“Redsquid has built strong momentum and a clear vision for the future. I’m looking forward to working with Sohin, Camilla and the wider leadership team to support the next stage of growth and help realise that ambition,” said McGinn.

Sohin Raithatha, CEO and co-founder of Redsquid, added: “We have a clear ambition to build a £250m-plus group and become a category leader in the UK.

“[McGinn’s] experience in scaling businesses at pace, combined with his ability to challenge and support leadership teams, makes him a great fit for this next phase of our journey.”

The appointment marks the firm’s second leadership change this month, following the promotion of Camilla Karm to group MD three weeks ago to lead operational execution, integration and go-to-market alignment across the business.

It also comes as Redsquid expands its footprint across the UK through M&A over the past year.

Earlier this month, the company completed its largest acquisition to date with the purchase of Partnership Education, adding more than £8m in revenue.

In January, it bought out Marlow-headquartered IT security provider Security Software Solutions.

In November, the MSSP took over tech consultancy CJAZ and SOC provider Cyberseer.

Two months earlier, Redsquid strengthened its presence in Scotland with the purchase of Glasgow-based MSP Red Mosquito.
