Rubrik VP of global channel and alliances Ghazal Asif leaves

Asif headed up the vendor’s partner ecosystem for four years

Ghazal Asif has announced her departure from Rubrik as its vice president of global channels and alliances.

Asif revealed her news in a LinkedIn post.

“From building and scaling a global partner ecosystem (GPO) that meaningfully contributed to Rubrik’s growth, to rebuilding our global inside sales organisation for scale, to working with some of the brightest Rubrikans and partners… and ultimately standing on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange for our IPO. It truly was an opportunity of a lifetime. One I will always cherish,” she wrote.

“For now, I’m taking time to reset and be intentional about what’s next after an intense, fulfilling, and unforgettable chapter. I leave with immense gratitude, real pride in what we built together, and genuine excitement for what’s ahead… for all of us.”

Rubrik confirmed to CRN that chief solutions officer Alok Agrawal now oversees global channel and alliances.

During her time at Rubrik, Asif oversaw the launch of a new partner programme in 2023, and last year told CRN of plans to build a more comprehensive enablement programme.

Asif first joined the NYSE-listed data security vendor in 2022 as its global vice president of channel, alliances and inside sales.

Prior to this, she spent more than a year and a half as Google’s customer solutions channel partnerships boss, heading up channel partners in EMEA, leading channel go-to-market strategy and execution for the region.

She has also held a number of other channel leadership roles including as SVP of worldwide channels at Cybereason, VP of worldwide channels for GSP & cloud providers at AppDynamics, and director of global channel sales at Cisco Meraki.

But Asif first broke into the tech sector at HP in inside sales.

“The reason why I applied for tech was nothing to do with the fact that it's tech, it was because I heard it pays really well,” she told CRN.

After one year, Asif left her first job at HP to pursue an opportunity to be on the BBC’s The Apprentice series three.

She was the youngest candidate to appear on the show at the time, and number nine to get fired.
