Sword Group has acquired CirrusHQ to strengthen its cloud capabilities across the UK market.

Sword said the buyout will strengthen its multi-cloud and hybrid capabilities, particularly across the education and public sectors.

Edinburgh-based CirrusHQ is an AWS Premier consulting and solution provider partner focused on cloud infrastructure, migration and transformation projects.

The business supports enterprise IT environments across areas including regulatory compliance, resilience and cloud modernisation.

It also generates around £6m in annual revenue with an EBIT margin above 12 per cent, according to Sword.

The group expects the business to deliver organic growth of around 20 per cent per year following the integration.

CirrusHQ was consolidated into Sword Group’s accounts 1 May.

“We are delighted to welcome CirrusHQ to the Sword family,” said Kevin Moreton, CEO of Sword UK.

“Their expertise and ability to deliver innovation at pace will be a strong addition as we continue to expand our cloud and AI-related capabilities.”

The buyout comes as Sword recently posted an 11.7 per cent revenue increase to €90.7m (£78.7m) in Q1.

In FY25, the Luxembourg-headquartered group generated revenue of €357.7m.

The company also confirmed the sale of its subsidiary Tipik to mci group in December, marking the end of its involvement in event-related activities as part of its strategy to refocus on digital transformation and value-added services.

Beyond this divestment, the group has made several investments across Europe and Scotland over the past year.

In April 2025, it bought out Scottish cybersecurity and observability data company iDelta.

In October, it took over Spanish technology consultancy Full On Net to boost its data science and digital platforms capabilities.

A month earlier, it acquired Swiss value-added IT services provider Bubble Go, which also gave the organisation nearshore platform in Portugal.

Including the takeover of CirrusHQ, these M&A moves together contributed around €18.35m to the group’s revenue.
