Viatel fortifies UK cyber business with FullProxy acquisition
The deal marks the firm’s second buyout in just over a year
Viatel Technology Group has taken over Scottish cybersecurity consultancy FullProxy to boost its UK public sector footprint and expand its cyber resilience capabilities.
The Ireland-HQ group said integrating FullProxy’s team will enhance its ability to support enterprise and public sector organisations with cybersecurity, compliance and operational resilience.
The acquired firm’s customer base includes organisations operating in healthcare, local government, financial services and critical infrastructure, including the NHS, the Scottish Government, Virgin Money and FNZ.
“FullProxy strengthens our position as an integrated technology partner with expertise across security, networking and digital services and enhances our ability to deliver solutions that are aligned to customer priorities,” said Paul Rellis, CEO of Viatel.
“It also represents a strong endorsement of our cyber division and our long-term strategy to help organisations build resilience today and grow securely for the future.”
Ewan Ferguson, CEO of FullProxy, added: “Joining Viatel gives us the opportunity to build on that success.
“Together, we’ll be able to offer customers even greater capability while continuing to deliver the specialist expertise and personal service they value from FullProxy.”
The acquisition follows Viatel’s purchase of Cybit’s enterprise-grade security division, Cybit Cyber, in June 2025.
The company said the combined capabilities will enable it to deliver a broader range of consultancy and managed services while helping customers strengthen cyber resilience and adopt AI securely.
The acquisition also comes as Viatel has reshuffled its leadership team over the past 12 months.
Two weeks ago, the firm appointed Kevin Dillon as strategic cybersecurity advisor to its board.
In March, it promoted Eilish O’Connor to its first director of strategy and AI.
A month earlier, Marty Patterson was named client CTO, while Damien McCann became MD of Viatel communication services.
Viatel also hired Ciarán Dack as head of M&A at the end of last year.
These changes follow the investment by Australian investment firm Macquarie Capital, which became one of the organisation’s shareholders in 2023 to support its expansion across the island of Ireland and internationally.
