Germany-based solution provider Xantaro has promoted Marcus Cuthbert to UK MD, replacing Mark Hutchinson following 13 years in the role.

The new head of the company first joined Xantaro UK as head of sales in 2022.

Prior to joining the organisation, he held leadership positions at IT firms such as NAK Consulting and Damovo UK.

Cuthbert’s appointment “brings strong momentum and continuity as the business enters its next phase of growth,” the company wrote in a LinkedIn post.

Hutchinson will now assume the position of UK executive chairman to continue supporting strategic direction, key relationships and future M&A activity.

The announcement comes as the firm has undergone a leadership reshuffle over the past 12 months.

In October 2025, it hired Wolfgang Winkler as chief people and transformation officer.

A month earlier, it named Ingbert Seufert chief sales officer.

In April, Jürgen Städing was promoted to COO.

This series of appointments follows the departure of Gerold Arheilger as head of the group in December 2024, a position now held by Martin Czermin.

This C-suite revamp also comes as Xantaro UK’s revenue declined around 11 per cent from £33m to £29.2m for the year ended 31 August 2024.

The drop was reportedly caused by adverse currency fluctuations, as well as intensified competition that led to reduced sales in both services and hardware.

On the other hand, operating profit rose about 17 per cent to £408k, compared with £348k the year prior

Despite these setbacks, the solution provider said it remains confident that the domestic market will grow and that it is well positioned to service demand.

The organisation also acquired German IT system house anykey in November, in an effort to provide clients across Europe with enhanced solutions for IT infrastructure, data centres and networks.

According to the company’s website, Xantaro currently employs 170 people and serves more than 300 customers across the UK and Germany.

It has offices in London, Cologne, Frankfurt, Munich and Hamburg.
