Yubico launches new channel track to drive ‘partner-first strategy’
The move follows the appointment of a new CEO in December
Swedish authentication vendor Yubico has launched YubiNation Partners, a new global partner programme aimed at addressing the rise of AI-driven cyberattacks.
The scheme introduces a four-tier structure.
The entry-level Bronze tier will focus on onboarding and training via the Yubico Academy and authorised distributors.
Silver partners are set to gain access to lead sharing and co-sell support for larger deployments, defined as opportunities involving more than 200 users.
Gold and Platinum tiers will unlock additional commercial incentives.
Gold firms will reportedly receive priority access to market development funds and up to 25 YubiKeys.
Platinum partners are to gain enhanced deal incentives, services leads and as many as 50 YubiKeys.
YubiKeys are the vendor’s hardware-based authentication devices used for phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication and passwordless login.
The NFC-enabled keys are usually deployed as part of identity security and zero-trust strategies.
Existing partners will be automatically assigned to tiers based on revenue growth and completed certifications.
New partners can apply through Yubico’s website or through their local distributor.
“Yubico is embracing a partner-first strategy, moving beyond traditional resale to build a dedicated community of security experts who are shaping the future of digital identity,” said Bettina Vahl, the company’s VP of global channels (pictured).
“This programme is built to turn our partners into true trusted advisors, giving them the innovation, speed and scale they need to help customers go passwordless and stay secure everywhere.”
The programme builds on the recent expansion of the Yubico Academy, the organisation’s partner training platform.
The academy offers certifications spanning sales, technical pre-sales and professional services.
The channel track launch also comes amid a series of leadership changes at the company.
Two months ago, Jerrod Chong was promoted from COO to acting CEO, replacing Mattias Danielsson.
Albert Biketi has taken on the role of chief product and technology officer while Sheryl Chamberlain joined as SVP of business development in September.
Snejana Koleva was appointed CFO in April.
Yubico has also expanded the reach of several offerings in recent months.
In May, it extended the availability of YubiKey-as-a-Service across all EU countries, having previously offered the service in markets including the UK, US, Canada, Japan, Singapore, Australia and India.
