Daisy buys O-bit to create "major channel force"
Acquisitive comms provider snaps up rival to take partner numbers north of 1,000
Serial acquirer Daisy Group has closed its latest deal by swooping on rival O-bit Telecom for an undisclosed sum.
O-bit will slot into the Daisy Wholesale division and chief executive Dave Breith and his senior management line-up will remain in place. They will report to Daisy Wholesale managing director Carl Churchill.
Daisy indicated O-bit's stable of 120 resellers and 170 virtual resellers were a key attraction of the High Wycombe-based firm. The deal will take Daisy's UK partner numbers to more than 1,000.
O-bit also brings with it strong data and network services skills, said Daisy, while its reseller base will now benefit from being able to offer mobile and voice hardware kit.
Churchill claimed the acquisition would create one of the channel's biggest comms providers.
"David has built a strong and entrepreneurial business at O-bit and he is someone we have admired as a competitor for some time," he added. "By integrating O-bit into Daisy Wholesale, we will create a major force in the channel and will see many benefits as a result, including commercial competitiveness, capability and scale."
Breith, meanwhile, welcomed the new kit and services now available to O-bit's customer base.
"I am extremely happy with the deal we have done with Daisy," he said. "With the additional products and services available, this is a fantastic opportunity for customers to increase their portfolio."
