Change at top for IBM software partners

Global software partner boss Sandy Carter switches roles in reshuffle

IBM's software channel business has a new head honcho as incumbent Sandy Carter moves across to an evangelist role within Big Blue.

The tech monster confirmed in an email to partners that Mark Register has stepped into the vice president of Software Business Partners and Midmarket slot vacated by Carter.

During her 18-month tenure, Carter was involved with the introduction of IBM's move to controlled distribution of software via its Software Value Plus (SVP) programme, to which IBM recently added a higher tier.

"I have a new role as IBM vice president for social business and collaboration solutions, sales and evangelism," Carter confirmed.

"I am thrilled to help our clients use social business to impact their results."

Register was previously vice president of business analytics and optimization for IBM Software Group, based in Australia.
