ADA lands million-pound Marlin deal

West Sussex VAR reels in outsourcing contract from financial services firm

VAR ADA Technology Services has tied up a £1.4m four-year deal to manage the IT operations of Marlin Financial Services.

The agreement covers 125 users, but this will rise to 200 users over the course of the contract. Management of all Marlin's systems and applications is being packed off to West Sussex-based ADA. Two Marlin staff have already transferred to the reseller under TUPE regulations.

The deal also covers the provision of a newly implemented hosted infrastructure. ADA will offer a remote service desk, as well as onsite engineering support.

Marlin's top execs will benefit from VIP support, while ADA will also offer the Worthing-based accounts receivable specialist technical account management and a virtual CIO service. A disaster recovery service, including a 25-desk emergency facility, is also to be provided.

ADA's managed services director, Ash Patel, said: "As a mature IT outsourced services specialist that caters specifically for the mid-market, we have developed a thorough understanding of what our clients need from an IT perspective in order to help them grow.

"As a consequence of Marlin's decision to outsource its IT function to ADA, we are able to plan and manage their IT costs as the business expands. Marlin now has a pre-allocated price per user that will provide complete control of its IT expenditure over the next four years".

Marlin managing director Alan Evans added: "Our partnership with ADA means that we no longer have to worry about IT and that we can focus on what we do best. Importantly, we now have access to a resource of 70 IT specialists."
