RMS IT Security looks ahead after MBO

Security division of Redstone Managed Solutions is eyeing growth under new management team

RMS IT Security has asserted it is business as usual following its management buyout (MBO) from parent company Redstone plc.

The buyout was announced in December, but will remain under the control of its longest-serving staff.

A total of 58 staff members, mainly based in Stoke, have been transferred to RMS IT Security in accordance with TUPE regulations.

Robert Cavan, managing director of RMS IT Security, said: “The company name and identity may have changed but other than that it is business as usual. RMS IT Security remains in the hands of the people who know it best and who are dedicated to driving it forward.

“The new structure enables us to be more agile and responsive to the needs of our customers and partners. The new management team has some great ideas and a renewed impetus to really move things forward,” he said.

Ciaran Rafferty, vice president, Northern Europe Middle East and Africa at Sophos, welcomed the MBO.

“Sophos has a well-established relationship with RMS IT Security. With a strong leadership team, they have considerable experience within the industry. We are confident that their future plans for the business will continue to drive our joint success and support our customers. We therefore look forward to continuing to work closely with the team and to building on our successful relationship,” he said.
