Target cuts prices on 400 product lines
Distributor offers discounts of up to 50 per cent in end-of-year sale
Distributor Target Components is marking what it claims is the channel's busiest month with a sale involving 50 of its vendors.
The March price slash, which coincides with the run up to Target's year end, covers more than 400 product lines worth over £500,000, according to the distributor.
Managing director Paul Cubbage stressed the discounting is not sponsored by its vendors, but is part of the distributor's strategy of "giving something back" to partners following its recent growth spurt.
"We've always believed in sharing the benefits of our success with those who have contributed," said Cubbage.
"We have done this for the last few years internally, by sharing 10 per cent of our profits equally between all staff. This is simply another way of sharing the benefits with our customers, without whose support we couldn't have hit the levels we have in recent years."
Some memory lines have 55 per cent off, promised Target, with selected cables at as little as half price and some media being slashed by 25 per cent. "The average percentage saving across the sale is well into double figures," confirmed a representative.
