Zycko gets a bit of BakBone

Distributor signs UK-wide deal with storage vendor

Storage vendor BakBone has signed a UK distribution deal with Zycko and tasked the firm with recruiting VARs to market its data protection products.

Under the terms of the deal, Zycko will be responsible for distributing several of the Quest Software-owned vendor's NetVault backup and recovery offerings.

David Galton-Fenzi (pictured), group sales manager at Zycko, said BakBone's products will be a good fit with the rest of its disaster recovery portfolio.

"Combining NetVault with leading hardware from other Zycko vendors will allow us to offer bundled solutions to our resellers. A future SMB solution will combine the BakBone software with racks, blades and storage," he explained.

Jeroen Lochtenberg, sales director for northern Europe for Quest Data Protection from BakBone, added: "While we already have a long-established presence in the UK, we are keen to increase our reseller base.

"Zycko is therefore a perfect partner as its value-added approach and expert knowledge has created strong relationships in the channel that BakBone, and ultimately Quest Software, will benefit from."
