GrIDsure takes aim at token-based rivals
Vendor on reseller recruitment drive as it offers extra discount on token-based 2FA replacement deals
Pattern-based authentication vendor GrIDsure has switched to a pure channel model and is offering cash to partners who unseat token-based rivals.
The Cambridge-based firm has poached Matt Salter from Clearswift to build out a reseller channel in the post of regional sales director northern Europe.
New reseller recruits include Qual, SkyeIT, ANS, Salford Software and Breathe.
The vendor has also launched a Cash for Tokens promotion under which partners can earn extra discount for dislodging "old-fashioned" token-based solutions. It runs until 30 June.
GrIDsure chief executive Daniel Mothersdale said: "So-called two-factor solutions based on hardware tokens are a burden in terms of hardware and maintenance costs, and tokens can be stolen, damaged or lost.
"The time is right for replacing old-fashioned authentication solutions with a better alternative and we are signing up partners who can seize this opportunity."
Salter, who has also worked for Symantec and Postini, added: "The company has had tremendous initial success, signing up customers such as the National Crédit Agricole Federation in France. We are now ready for a huge sales push through the channel."
