Midwich broadens view on Panasonic

Distributor works to address market convergence

Midwich has signed up to push Panasonic's business and security systems, alongside the projectors and professional displays it already offers from that vendor.

Alex Ward, commercial director at Midwich, said the deal would help both partners. "It is a change in our partnership with Panasonic, a key vendor," he said.

Ward added that resellers are sought with the skills to sell the expanded portfolio, which includes A4 MFDs, scanners, fax machines, interactive whiteboards (IWBs), and video surveillance systems.

Stephen Gerrard, head of systems marketing for Panasonic, said that the world of business systems is experiencing convergence.

"Data, video, voice and image based systems are converging on a single infrastructure, unrestricted by geography," Gerrard said.

In other news, tomorrow [22 March] Midwich's partnership with Dell Printers will go live. According to Dell, the agreement was spurred on by channel feedback that Dell needed to boost its distribution.

Midwich becomes Dell's second printer distributor, with a view to increasing sales of its printers and MFDs to business.
