Centrix bulks up for VDI take-off

Application monitoring software vendor announces new hires, partnerships and recruitment plans

Application monitoring specialist Centrix Software has bolstered its company headcount and partner tally in recent months.

The vendor has added five VARs to its partner network, including Bytes, A&O, B2Lateral, OCSL and Strategic Technologies, and doubled the size of its in-house quality assurance team.

The firm's European expansion plans are also gathering pace, with the company expanding its existing distribution partnership with Arrow ECS to Germany.

Lewis Gee, vice president for worldwide sales and marketing at Centrix, told ChannelWeb its recruitment activities were all attributable to the growing demand for desktop transformations

"We have seen a dramatic uptake in the number of active projects from partners around the virtual desktop space," said Gee.

"Lots of companies have talked about the benefits of virtual desktops for many years, but 2011 seems to be the year that they actually start doing something about it."

The firm's latest run of partner recruits means it now has around 20 or so VARs on its books. As a result, Gee said Centrix is now turning its attention to building out its systems integrator channel.

"We are still going to be doing some selective reseller recruitment, but we are also starting to build out our go-to-market strategy in other areas, too," explained Gee.

"One area where we are doing that is around the SI channel so that we can start to target larger customers, as well as continue to grow our share of the SMB market."
