Equanet appoints new finance manager
Third high profile hire as firm looks to expansion
Equanet has hired Kevin Cook as its new finance manager as the firm eyes expansion.
Cook, who joined parent company DSGi in 2005, is the firm's third high profile appointment in as many months after it took on Peter Ratcliffe as head of IT and Jamie Marshall as head of IT solutions.
Under his new role, Cook will report to managing director Phil Birbeck and will be challenged with integrating finance into the wider business.
"The role comes with two important challenges for me to tackle in the short term," he said. "The first is to integrate finance into the whole of the business - I want all Equanet staff to have a good understanding of the finance function.
"The second is to ensure that all staff really understand our customers, in particular what makes them profitable, so that we can provide maximum value to our clients," he added.
Managing director Birbeck, said: "Kevin's appointment is a sign of our continuing confidence in him - in the past five years, he has exceeded expectations and we look forward to seeing the effect of his new role on the business.
"Equanet has made a number of senior hires for 2011, and we will be going to great lengths to make sure that the year ahead is a successful one."
