Computacenter grabs a stake in ICS Solutions

Half a million pound investment will boost infrastructure and services giant's Microsoft Collaboration offering

Computacenter UK has bolstered its Microsoft Collaboration skills with the acquisition of a minority stake in ICS Solutions Ltd.

The £500,000 cash deal was announced on the London Stock Exchange this morning, though few details about the deal are available.

Basingstoke-based ICS Solutions has been a Microsoft Gold partner for more than 15 years and has a pool of more than 1,800 Microsoft experts on its books, according to its website.

It also claims to be one of the first of the elite new Gold level partners in the UK, and its core skills include Microsoft SharePoint, Windows Azure and Office 365.

In the Stock Exchange statement, Computacenter said: "This acquisition will allow Computacenter to pursue wider opportunities in the deployment of its Microsoft Collaboration service and solution offerings."

In separate news, Computacenter plc also announced it had completed the acquisition of Paris-based hardware, software and services reseller Top Info.
