Perfect ten for Stormfront

Apple APR will open its first store in the north in York, and its tenth in total, on 16 April

Apple Premium Reseller (APR) Stormfront will open its tenth UK retail outlet later this month in York.

The new store starts trading on 16 April and will be the first that the company has opened in the north of England since its inception in 2006.

James Collard, sales director at Stormfront, said the company has previously held off on expanding beyond the south because of the recession.

"We started off in Exeter and, because of the economic crisis, we got the opportunity to open stores in prime locations across the south that we might not have got if market conditions had been better," explained Collard.

"We are now looking at opening more stores across the entire country in 2011, and we are awaiting pre-approval from Apple on several new locations."

Collard said Stormfront's growth could be attributed to the "entire Apple phenomenon", adding that the recent iPad 2 launch attracted queues of more than 300 people outside all of its outlets.

The firm has almost completed recruiting full- and part-time staff to man the new shop, added Collard, and there are plans to launch its Personal Training service in store within its first month of opening.

The service provides customers with "unlimited access" to one-hour, in-store training courses aimed at helping them make the most of their Apple products.

"There are over 100 courses available and they are open to anyone, regardless of where they purchased their Apple product from," added Collard.
