Stone recycles the NHS
System builder is one of just four suppliers to make it onto an NHS IT Recycling Framework Agreement
Stone has won a lucrative IT disposal contract with the NHS, which will see it provide secure disposal services to NHS Trusts across the UK.
The system builder is one of only four suppliers appointed to the two-year contract within Lot 1 (hardware) of the IT Recycling Framework Agreement from the NHS Shared Business Services Commercial Procurement Solutions (SBS CPS), the body established after a merger with the North West Collaborative Commercial Agency (NWCCA).
After the first two years, the contract will be renewed on an annual basis.
James Bird, chief executive of Stone, said in a statement: "Stone has been awarded inclusion in this framework agreement based on its proven track record across the UK public sector, including education and the emergency services as well as healthcare.
"Key service offerings such as the removal of redundant IT assets free of charge and a secure recycling facility mean that Stone is exceptionally well positioned to fulfill the requirements of this agreement. Indeed, Stone is the only UK computer manufacturer with ownership over its own recycling facility."
Bird added that the Stone's inclusion in this framework represents an important step-change for the company, as it extends its products and services portfolio.
"The awareness of secure and environmentally conscious IT hardware disposal is gaining momentum across the UK public sector, and we are sure that this will be an area of significant growth for the company over the coming year," he said.
