Blue Coat picks new EMEA boss

Former NetIQ and Micro Focus honcho Marc Andrews takes reins of security vendor's European business

Blue Coat has hired 25-year industry veteran Marc Andrews to head up its EMEA business, according to channel whispers.

ChannelWeb understands that the vice president EMEA slot, which has been vacant since Craig Stewart's departure last year, has now been filled by former NetIQ bigwig Marc Andrews.

According to industry sources, Andrews took up his post at the security and WAN optimisation vendor on 1 April.

Andrews, who has experience of running both EMEA and global sales organisations, was most recently company president of software vendor Micro Focus.

He has also served stints as chief operating officer and EMEA vice president for IT management software vendor NetIQ.

Software vendors BMC and Novell, as well as distributor Computer 2000, are among the other prominent firms at which he has held executive and managerial positions.

Blue Coat refused to comment.
