TSG snaps up Concentrix

Sage founder Graham Wylie's VAR snaps up rival as part of quest to become UK's top SMB IT provider

VAR Technology Services Group (TSG) has acquired Loughborough-based CRM specialist Concentrix for an undisclosed sum.

The deal is the 24th buyout that TSG, which is bankrolled by Sage founder Graham Wylie, has embarked upon since 2003.

Concentrix holds top-level accreditations with both Sage and Microsoft and employs over 60 staff.

Speaking to ChannelWeb last month, TSG revealed that it was preparing to hit the acquisition trail this year in order to build a UK-wide IT services network for SMBs.

The Concentrix acquisition means TSG now employs more than 500 UK staff.

TSG said Concentrix's CRM expertise, coupled with its partnerships with Sage and Microsoft, were a key factor in its decision to acquire the firm.

David Stonehouse, chief executive of TSG, said: "The Concentrix acquisition is a significant development in TSG's growth strategy and another strategic step in our quest to become the UK's number-one SMB IT services provider.

"We are particularly impressed with Concentrix's expertise in the CRM arena, covering both Microsoft Dynamics and Sage CRM products and are looking forward to this team leading TSG's growth in the delivery of CRM solutions."

Ian Dawkins, managing director of Concentrix, said the acquisition will allow it to offer customers a wider range of services.

"Becoming part of TSG will allow us to continue our growth and provide our existing customers with access to the full TSG product portfolio including business software, remote support, cabling, wireless systems, telecoms and virtualisation solutions," he said.
